Step 1: Import video files
Click "Add…" to import video/audio files or drag the files to the file list window directly. You will find all the supported imported formats below. Here we will take a look at converting a FLV video downloaded from Youtube to MPEG-4 for the iPod Touch.

Step 2: Edit video (optional option)
Going into Edit mode allows you to make custom edits and compare the original to the output file side by side.  You can also crop, trim, add a watermark and add plug-in subtitle to the video and also split or merge chapters.


Step 3: Customize Output Settings
Next choose the format you want to convert to.  They make it easy by selecting the device you putting the video on with optimal settings for that device.  Basically any portable media device format is supported for conversion. Here we will select iPod Touch MPEG-4.

You can further tweak the settings as well. No matter which video format you choose to convert to, there is the ability to customize the video and audio settings in "Settings" window by clicking.

Step 4: Start the conversion

After everything is set up simply hit the Start button. A conversion progress screen will be shown during the process where you can preview the video. Users of slower systems will probably want to disable the preview as it uses more CPU cycles.

Apart from the basic conversion function, you can also do some editing to the video to get your desired video. Hit the Edit button to bring up some editing tools which will be shown in a real-time split screen mode so you can make adjustments to color, saturation, effects, etc. and compare to the original file. Here below are some tips:

 

Tip 1: Trim video
If you just want to convert a clip from a video file, you can click the “Trim” to capture any clip you want. In the Trim window, you can trim video length either by dragging the Start Time and End Time sliders or by setting the time parameters in each corresponding field.

Tip 2: Crop video
Click "Crop" and you can resize the video. You can get the desired size of video for your iPhone by selecting aspect ratio, dragging cropping frame or setting the related parameters. 


Tip 3: Adjust video effect
You can make some special effect to the video. You will get an intuitive preview of the video effect before and after adjusting with two real-time previewing panes. In this example I added the Old Film effects to the video.

Tip 4: Edit watermark
If you want to get a personalized video by adding some information to it as watermark, you can realize it by adding either text or image information. You are also allowed to resize the added text/image.

Tip 5: Add plug-in subtitle
If you have got some videos with the corresponding plug-in subtitle file (usually in SRT format), you can add the subtitle to the video under "Subtitle" tab.
Note: The source file you import should be MKV file, and the plug-in subtitle file should be in SRT format. And you still have to put the MKV file and subtitle file in the same folder with the same name.


Tip 6: Capture picture from video
You can capture pictures from the video by clicking the "snapshot" button in the preview screen and save them as picture files.
